Labradorite is a member of the oligoclase, feldspar group and is a sodium calcium aluminium silicate. It is translucent to semi-opaque and has internal twinning striations. The main color flashes in the stone are green, blue, gold, orange, red and a bit of violet. To see this effect it must be in good light. These stones were named Spectrolite, the name was changed to labradorite.
